Lesson 4
Lethifold:
What is a Lethifold? Well, a Lethifold's appearance might fall a little flat for some of you! (I really need to stop making horrible jokes). Well a Lethifold looks like flat black cloak. (This fact contributes to the Lethifold's nickname, the Living Shroud) A Lethifold is about a half an inch thick, but it is usually thicker if it has recently had a meal. This creature floats across the ground in the middle of the night looking for its prey. What is its prey you ask? It's humans of course! Why wouldn't a XXXXX rated creature have a taste for humans? So while people are sleeping peacefully, a Lethifold silently creeps under their bedroom door and makes their way to the person's bed. Then it’s quite simple. The Lethifold hops in bed and smothers the person in their sleep and then eats them. So sleep with one eye open tonight and hope a Lethifold doesn't eat you!!
Let's talk about some people have experienced some Lethifold attacks! First let's start with Miss Janus Thickney! This woman mysteriously vanished! Or, well not so mysteriously. One night Miss Thickney wrote a note and left it at her bedside table. It read, "oh no a Lethifold's got me I'm suffocating." Well, people believed this note and she had just become a victim of a Lethifold attack! But, it turns out she had just left 5 miles outside of town in a local pub named the Green Dragon.
How about someone who actually encountered an attack and SURVIVED! It was a wizard by the name of Flavius Belby! This wizard is credited for finding the method of defeating a Lethifold attack. It was 1782 in Papa New Guinea. Mr. Belby was on his vacation when one night a Lethifold slipped under his bedroom door and tried to attack him. After trying multiple charms and spells with no avail, Belby was just about to be the Lethifolds next meal until he performed the Patronus Charm. He had saved himself with his fully formed Patronus. So if you ever encounter a Lethifold, you had better hope you have some good memories saved up! Because you'll need them if you want to see the next day!

Manticore:
Our next creature’s rarity makes telling you about it quite difficult! It's a Manticore! This XXXX rated beast is similar to a Chimaera, but not quite exactly the same. This creature too is made up of three different creatures and is also from Greece. What are these three creatures you ask? It's a head of a man, a body of a lion, and a tail of a scorpion. Quite scary I tell you! This creature has its rating because of its deadly sting from its tail. What else is there to tell about a Manticore? Well, it's said that whenever a Manticore eats prey it makes a low, soft, crooning noise. There is something else that makes this creature so valuable. Its hide is known to repel most charms and spells. So watch out! It's dangerous to be around one of these beasts!
